For those of you who don’t know, Kham Inthirath – our agency’s founder – was born in Laos. In case your geography knowledge is a bit lacking, we thought it best to give you a visual of his former stomping grounds:

And although we here in New England are proud Kham now calls this area home, you can take the boy away from Laos, but you can’t take Laos away from the boy. And that’s a good thing because, thanks to being born overseas, Kham was eligible for The Immigrant Learning Center’s 2017 ILC Immigration Entrepreneur Awards.

But wait. Kham just had to be born in Laos to be nominated?

No, no. That just made him eligible. To be nominated, Kham had to do a lot more in the 30+ years on this little planet we call home.

And boy, has he.

Kham is nominated for a specific category: Neighborhood Business, which is a fancy way of saying that Kham – both with Envision and on his own – has done a lot to serve the community he now calls home.

Seriously. The rest of us around the office just kind of shake our heads watching Kham buzz around from board meetings to charitable events and more. It’s not just his time commitment that we’re impressed with, or his level of energy, but the passion he has for everything he’s involved with.

We’re proud to call him our leader. We’re proud he’s been nominated. And we’re proud to be part of a community that honors folks like Kham who constantly put others before themselves.

So join us as we say congrats to Kham for being nominated, and good luck. Even if you don’t win, your hard work and dedication are appreciated.

But we think you should probably get your acceptance speech ready. We’d hate for you to have one of these moments …

Here’s what you need to know – because all the cool kids are going to this event:

The 2017 winners will be announced at The ILC Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, Mass., with special guest speaker Jeff Bussgang, general partner at Flybridge Capital, and Master of Ceremonies Larry O’Toole, founder of Gentle Giant Moving Company and 2016 nominee.
